Derrick Rose sprained his ankle during the Knicks' win against Charlotte on Friday.
Rose was injured during Friday's win over Charlotte and is wearing a walking boot to relieve pressure. With the Knicks playing three games over four days — Tuesday at Washington and Wednesday at Brooklyn — Rose suggested that having a full week to recover is the proper course of action.
"I have to have to be smart," Rose said prior to Sunday's game with the Hawks. "I want to be at 100 percent."
Rose has now missed a total of six games this season: four with a lower back injury, one when he went AWOL and now the left ankle sprain. He still remains on pace to play in more games than he has in any one season since he appeared in 81 games in 2010-11. That was also Rose's MVP season.
